I don't know for sure...but I think the RAA style could work pretty well, except maybe just have it as an RA, where we respond to whichever character the last person talked about and then write the backstory of one of our own...

RAA sounds good, but I'm fine with whatever.
Another option (since its Backstory FRIDAY) is that we could all join up on Fridays-ish to discuss backstory, although it might be a tad hard considering time zones.

I was wondering what you guys thought about maybe inviting a few more people to participate here. I don't really have anyone in mind, maybe some of more active poster on the SSN thread? It seems like it's really only the four of us using this and it would be nice to have a few more people to get things going again. I don't know, just throwing the idea out there since I know most people tend to disappear from the nano boards as soon as camp is done.

I'd be for it, BUT... look at our cabin. I invited everyone who was suggested to me, and the participation by them was... well. Not very intense. Even here, there COULD be a lot more people involved, just from the cabiners, but apparently there's not much interest.
So while I'm not against it on principle, I'm a bit sceptical as to the actual good it will do.

Since NaNo forums are winding down after camp, how do people feel about reviving our own SSN thread here? No pressure if you don't want to, but I noticed that it keeps me motivated to actually write those scenes, so that I have something new to post.

I'm cool with it! I've got my work schedule printed up on the wall, so while I won't be posting every day, I know I'll be free more than once a week!  (especially if any of us are on at the same time... ) That might change when I go back to college, but I'll try to make sure it doesn't!  |

I'm having an evil author moment. I just wrote the ending to my climax chapter and I'm sitting here now chuckling to myself thinking how much my readers are going to hate me. Here's the ending in case your interesting.
She placed herself directly in front of Ryan. He had his gun aimed at something down the beach. She didn’t turn to see who it was, she knew he wouldn’t reach his target. Their eyes locked. He leveled the gun directly over her heart. She watched him pull back the trigger as if it was in slow motion. She braced for the shot. At least her last action would be one she could be proud of. She had saved her brother.

No she's not dead. Can't kill off the MC in book 2 of what is planned to be a 6-7 book series. But that was the reaction I was going for.

Thankful to finally have a moment to breathe...I've been doing so much VBS and work and other stuff that it's fantastic to get even a moment off. I'm also glad that I get to work on this next chapter, since it's just Mattathias and Jendrome by themselves...should be interesting! |
