Ahh I just found another TSFH song... The Soul That Must AwakenIt actually sums up Val and Shadow's story arc perfectly without even needing lyrics. At the beginning, there's the calm before the storm, when they could ride through fields of green on their horses and the Council was just a job. They're swept up in the war, but for a while, it's still okay, because they believed that they were getting closer to winning when in fact they were drifting away from victory. And then hell really begins.

Okay, I was mowing the lawn this morning and realized that I have two other songs that are musical inspirations to various things.
The first is Aces High by Iron Maiden. I used it in a storyline that I call Chimera that follows a young girl that is turned into a chimera (she can shift into various animals). The trump card for them is that they can shift into dragons. They use the song at one point when they're attempting to rescue some of their people across the country and are listening to it when they jump from the back of a commandeered military plane and shift mid-air. I love that scene.
The other is Through the Fire and Flame by Dragonforce. I have that as a recurring theme in a series that I'm currently calling Billie - after the MC. She plays the song on piano in high school and it wakes her up from a four year almost state of shock after being brutally murdered when she turned 14. She was sent back from hell, so has literally come through fire and flame. It's a recurring theme for her in her life.

*revives thread* I don't find much inspiration from music; I've just recently taken to listening to music while I write so I'm still experimenting with things. However, Lost Boy by Ruth B definitely encompasses the relationship that Peter has with the Lost Boys in Never-Last; all of them had been in bad situations when Peter came across them and spirited them away to Neverland. I can't think of anything serious for Mors Terra--although Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better from Annie Get Your Gun is basically Ryder's and Kathryn's beginning relationship in a nutshell. They're always trying to prove to the other that their ways are better or they're more skilled at a task.

Hmmm I don't really have anything specific that I listen to when I write. It just depends on what I'm in the mood to listen to. I listen to anything from country to rap to pop to...Well you get the idea haha. I listen to whatever I want to at the moment.

Yes! I love that there's a place to share music inspirations. I have playlists started on Spotify for all my Dream World Chronicles stories. I'll have to figure out how to share those here. I'm also planning to make playlists for Marina Humana stories too someday.

For me, when I'm writing the battle scenes or the really intense planning scenes I go onto spotify and go to the playlist called battle music. It really gets me into the story and ready to go and do the shit that needs to be done within the story. Because I was listening to it for a part in The mates, I got all the planning done and had her infiltrate the place she needed to infiltrate.
