Oh, how could I forget this! Maybe because I never reach all those goals I set for myself Well, that's what recommitment is for, right? Writing:
Finish first draft of The Race
Continue prewriting for Stellar (now that I have the reference books for my antagonist) I want to start with writing exercises; I have so many books lying around, I want to use them, otherwise what's the point? Since NBR is over, and Wayfarer's is nearly over, I thought of putting the Saturday aside for this. And maybe we could revive our Drabble game? It was fun. Create a bit of buffer for my blog. Usually I can write a blog post from scratch, but it's nice to have something prepared for the days when you just don't feel it. Reading:
I have two books for Stellar, one about swarm intelligence, and the other about how the brain codes thoughts, both for the creation of my antagonist - that I want to work through. Other:
I solemnly recommit to my drawing exercises. Ahem. I want to go back to the gym. When I had that shoulder pain and needed physiotherapy, I stopped going, because every move was just too painful, and now I want to get back into the habit. I need to get out more LOL. Currently, I'm just working and writing, and I need a bit more in life than that. At the moment, the freezing weather makes it too easy to stay at home where it's warm, but hopefully, it won't stay that way. It's SPRING, dammit!

Look at you all with your fancy goals.
My goal this month is to finish my Sisyphus story.
That's it.
I'm such a mess right now that even that is looking questionable.

Sometimes, life allows us to make broader goals. And sometimes...it doesn't. A week into February, I was exactly where you are, where even writing one story seemed tremendously daunting. It's okay to be a mess (even if being IN the mess SUCKS OUT LOUD). I am a firm believer in the old adage "It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop." We're rooting for you, Jay! <3

Well, it seems March has something about it that just compels you to announce your goals in here and you know what, you're right - it's time someone holds me accountable again. I got nothing done since I started my new job...
Okay, so here goes nothing.
WRITING: I decided that I'll take part in Camp NaNo in April again - for some reason, Camp has always been much more productive for me in terms of drafting than the main event in November.
So, in order to be able to draft RoE, I need to use March to complete the Prewriting phase. That means, as I discovered yesterday, that I need to sit down and plot out the second half of the story, from the Midpoint to the Climax. And since this seems to be shaping up as a thriller, I need to plot out the antagonists' moves first. And I have (counts on fingers) at least five different antagonists, who are not allied with each other...
So, I give myself 10 days for plotting, 10 days for worldbuilding, and 10 days for further character work. Everything else has to wait for the second draft.
DRAWING: Yes, I'm not giving up. I'll take up my drawing lessons in March, and aim to do one hour of drawing per day.
SPORTS: Uh... yeah, lol. Since I discovered that gym isn't for me, but I'm too out of shape to start riding lessons yet, I'll take up running. I can take the young dogs along, which will hopefully tire them out... at least a bit...
That's it for March. Anything else would fall by the wayside anyway. I don't want to try too much at once, I'd only frustrate myself.

Ok I'm in too. I need to get out of my writing funk and hopefully this will do it.
WRITING: -Finish the rewrites of Family Binds so it can go to the editor in April. (also find a new editor) -Get back to writing weekly blog -Write a trip report for Disney Cruise and post create a new page on my website for it. I'm hoping it will draw in some traffic from people who otherwise might never find my page.
LIFE: -Find balance again. Life has been pretty crazy the last month and it's hit me pretty hard. I need to figure out how to get balance back with work now that my workload has doubled. I need to find balance with my writing again as I feel like I'm so far behind that there's not point anymore. We do have some fun things this month with the highlight being HAMILTON!!!!

ahahahahahahahaha welcome to Chiefy's yr 12 shenanigans. where doing extracurriculars on top of schoolwork is totally a great idea and signing up for too much shit at school definitely doesn't mean you now have no fucking time to do anything.
Writing: - probably do some of that writing, for starters lol - hell I'll do camp April why not it's not like anything's gonna go wrong right - write dat demons trilogy - did I mention doing the writing things?
Literally everything else: - DnD - DnD - DnD - homework - don't fail all the assignments and tests - be a responsible human being and study - DnD - learn that violin - be a good friend and turn up to friend's orchestra rehearsals - relearn how not to die in chess - lets throw some drawing practice in bc why not - oh yeah I need to read all those 1000000000000 pre-readings for literature gods that'll be fun - do this dumb thing called exercise bc apparently sitting around studying/procrastinating all day isn't healthy for you
